Hey folks,

Again, I'm finding it harder and harder to remind myself to get in here and update all of you! ;)

I was in Fargo this past Friday night to see Green Day in concert! I've been a long time fan of theirs but had never seen these guys live.

The show was freakin' awesome and after a 2.5 hour set, my voice was just about shot!

Here's a sample video from the phone... I apologize ahead of time, the video isn't the best quality. Again, it was from the phone and we were quite a ways from the stage - a far cry from where we usually are for concerts. We're usually on the floor!

Anyhow, hopefully, it work for you all. You'll probably need Real Player for it to work.

They are performing 21 Guns, here:

I have several vids, so I may post more later...

No, they are certainly not. Much worse than I ever thought possible, if you can imagine that.

The past 3 days of my life have been some of the hardest I've ever had to go through. I don't ever want to deal with a life being cut so short the rest of my life. I have cried more in these past 5-6 days than in the last 4-5 years of my life, combined...

Seeing my cousin and his wife go through such a horrible time has been very difficult. And even though the past two nights I've put on a brave face, hung out with them at their home, trying to make jokes, have fun, it isn't at all how I'm feeling deep down. I try to be strong for them. I know I have to. I want them to feel some normalcy in their lives right now. It's a hard thing to do, but with having some close friends and family to surround them with, it's made things a little easier. For all of us. We play with the kids, especially Zoey, who really doesn't understand what all is going on, other than "sissy went up into the clouds." She really doesn't know exactly what that means, but I'm sure, in some way, she wonders where she is. We've helped out cleaning the house for Brian and Amy, we've provided them all sorts of food to live off of for another two weeks probably (hah!). And we have tried with all our might to shower them with all the love and support we can afford.

I've been trying my hardest to keep from thinking about things and all I can do, it seems, is to listen to music. It helps ease the pain some.

Just tonight, though, I drilled through some of the newer songs I put on the mp3 player and came across the following lyrics in a portion of "Don't Tell Me." It's one of the newer songs that Mayday, a small band from Ohio, released to the MySpace community not so long ago. While the song itself is about getting over a recent break-up, some of these lyrics reflect very much how I've felt this past week and I'm sure how Brian and Amy have felt at times...
And you say it's time to move on
And stand up tall
To walk it out, get even, crawl
'Cause the more you love, the more you fall
Then I hear you, but I'm tired of all the good advice
It doesn't help...
It just gathers dust up on my shelf
This is hearthache that you've never had
So, you can try to wish me well

But, don't tell me that time is a healer
'Cause I know I still lie every time that I see her
And I can't get away from the smile
It isn't fair...
That I don't get to be
The one to put it there
In the context of what my family and myself have been going through, the first-person pertains to Brian and Amy, myself, and the immediate family that have been affected the most, while the second/third-person pertains to those that try to mean well by saying, "be strong, time is a healer..." We appreciate the comments and we know all of you really want to help, when the reality we have to face is that this is pain we need to deal with day-to-day and isn't something we can solve quickly. We appreciate the love and support, but all we need is those closest to us, to be there for quidance. I certainly want to thank all of you that have sent thoughts, wishes, and prayers through E-mail, over Facebook, and in person. It's been overwhelming and just proves how many people can be touched by only a 14 month old girl.

I'm glad Justin sent me the videos he took of Myah on his phone. It's only a glimpse of all those times I missed knowing her. It tears at my heart, but I'm so glad I have those videos now. What a beautiful little girl. I never knew it, but her favorite word was "WOW!" When you think about that for just a second, that is such a great way to look at the world, isn't it? To be in such amazement, the only thing you can say is "WOW!" Maybe I'll try to live my life a little bit more like that in the future. Myah, you've not only reminded me what's most important in my life, you have inspired me. And I only met you once.

I'll see you again, someday, beautiful.

Apparently, The Alerus Center (at least, through "Egypt Central's" web-site) referred to tonight's concert as "Metal Monday" in Grand Forks... ;)

Maybe for Egypt Central and Disturbed, who rocked out the show pretty damn good tonight, but not so much for "Art of Dying." They were the opening act and weren't too bad, but they sounded pretty much like any rock band. I wouldn't necessarily place them in the "metal" genre.

The moshing wasn't quite as bad as that we experienced at the Rise Against show about a month ago in St. Paul, but there was plenty of pushing, shoving, and certainly plenty of sweat to be shared. That just sounds nasty, but you don't really notice it until the intermissions or after the show is over. At the Rise Against show, I actually fell to the floor on several occasions and actually got trampled on once, which really wasn't all that fun. For obvious reasons. Last night's show, on the other hand, besides the one fucker that basically shoved me aside for his girlfried, was a lot of fun. I pushed that little bitch right back, by the way. ;)

There were probably a good 3 or 4 thousand strong at the Alerus tonight and that's really good to see... We rarely get metal acts up here in Grand Forks so it was awesome to see people actually showing up for it.

Disturbed was fucking cool as hell and I hope to see them again in the future.

The one thing I didn't get to see... the pair of titties that kept appearing, apparently! Damnit! Hahah!

Here's the aforementioned article I found on Egypt Central's web-site and it only confirms that we never get shows like this up here. Hopefully, we'll see more in the future.

12.08.08 Grand Forks Gets Its Metal Monday Night At The Alerus

Grand Forks gets its metal Monday night at the Alerus. When it comes to concerts, Grand Forks draws a good number of country shows, as well as pop stars such as Neil Diamond, family shows like "Winnie the Pooh" and "Veggie Tales" and the Broadway shows, such as "Hairspray."

What it doesn't get nearly as often are rock shows. (The last big one to come to town was Nickelback at the Alerus Center in July 2007.) Concerts by metal bands seem to be the rarest of all.

That's why metalheads may feel a certain sense of gratification Monday night when Disturbed performs at the Alerus Center with guests Egypt Central and Art of Dying. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. and the show is set to begin at 7:15 p.m. (Note: The start time has been moved up 15 minutes.)

Disturbed arrives in town after being nominated earlier this week for a Grammy in the Best Hard Rock Performance category for its current album, "Indestructible."

At the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles Feb. 8, its competition will be Judas Priest, for "Visions"; The Mars Volta, "Wax Simulacra"; Motley Crue, "Saints of Los Angeles"; and Rob Zombie, "Lords of Salem."

Tami Pearson, marketing director at the Alerus, said she wasn't aware of any particular reason that Grand Forks wasn't seeing more hard rock and metal acts at its major venues.

"We seem to see a country theme (in local shows)," she said. (The Alerus just announced its next big show, country singer James Otto, on Jan. 28.) "I know (metal and rock) is something our area has been missing, so we're happy to be able to bring a band like Disturbed to town."

Seating for the concert Monday night will be general admission. Tickets were still available, Pearson said Friday, but were going fast. Alerus officials expected a "pretty decent" walk-in crowd on Monday, she said. Tickets are $35, $30 with a student ID.

Disturbed's "Indestructible" was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America just six weeks after its June 3 release, a news release said. It has spawned the hit single "Inside the Fire," and set a record when it spent 16 weeks atop the Active Rock Radio chart. Its current single/title track, "Indestructible," currently is No. 2 on the Billboard Active Rock Chart.

"Indestructible" is the band's third consecutive No. 1 album, following its platinum-sellers "Believe" (2002) and "Ten Thousand Fists" (2005), making Disturbed one of only six rock bands in history to score three consecutive No. 1s with studio albums. Formed in Chicago in 1996, Disturbed has sold 10 million albums worldwide.

Disturbed features David Draiman on vocals, Dan Donegan on guitar and electronics, Mike Wengren on drums and John Moyer on bass.

Egypt Central toured for years with established bands and shared major tours like Ozzfest and Family Values. It released its first self-titled album in January, which spawned the singles "You Make Me Sick" and "Taking You Down," which reached No. 21 and No. 37.

Art of Dying, a five-piece rock act out of Vancouver, B.C., entered the music scene in 2005. Earlier it toured the United Kingdom with Seether.

...been listening to a song that is so captivating you can't stop listening to it? So captivating you can't be more than three feet away from your computer because the song lies on the Internet, where you can't get to it by any other means? So captivating because of who is singing it?

Someone ripped this off Versant's MySpace page and I just have to share this one more time on here since I now have a means to provide the song on my blog.

In a way, I wish I could mute the audio from the video and just listen to the song over and over. In another, I'm glad to see Carah moving on with her life - it looks like she's the normal, beautiful woman she's always been. And obviously, without the video, you wouldn't see her flash that amazing smile near the end. Gah! She levels me with it every time.

Great song, great voice, and god damnit, because of it, I can't turn off the laptop and get some sleep.

Oh, and by the way, to the mid-shift (Mike, Kat, Tim...), one more hour and you can go home. I can see you all have been checking up on me the past couple of mornings! Hah! Maybe this will provide a little bit o' entertainment - even though the song here may not quite get you as pumped as the Butt-Rock or Trance.

Even though the "Shiny's" (Shiny Toy Guns) aren't the same, I still have to support them. The new album goes on sale on Super Tuesday (Nov. 4th) from the Shiny's, but I've been able to hear the entire album already from their MySpace page. Actually, if you all can keep a secret I have my hands on a copy of the entire CD on my computer already. ;) It's so much different without Carah, but the new girl is growing on me. Sisely can certainly carry a tune and I still love the Shiny's for finding a new lead vocalist that can sing the way she does.

On the other hand, I fell in love with Carah. She has one of the most beautiful voices I've heard in a long time and it's impossible to just cast her aside. I've read all over the 'net two different stories... That Carah quit the band... and that the boys just went a different direction and left her behind. Carah wrote a few different blog replies that the latter was pretty much what happened. I tend to believe Carah rather than the rest of the band...

Very recently, we all found out that Carah now has a newly formed band and that they've been working on new material. Versant is the new band and they have a page up on MySpace already. Carah and the guys have a Demo up on the page for "Push Away," what may become their first single. If so, it sounds like it's an excellent song. Carah also has a video I just had to share here. Not only is Carah someone I regard as a wonderful artist, she's darn cute, and just seems so damn lovable. Too bad there isn't any way I can convince her to dump that guy of her's and come cuddle with me. ;)

Yes folks, I have returned... The world can go back to spinning the way it did before I left, the sky can turn cloudy, the temperatures can go cold again, the air - cool and stenchy, and happy people everywhere can return to their gloomy outlook on days ahead.

Heh.

What a negative way to start out a post.

Nah, deep down I'm actually in a fairly good mood. I'm just not showing it very well. I have mixed feelings right now but don't really feel this is place to share that. I desperately want to write about certain things that have transpired over the past few days and why these feelings are bubbling up.

The only thing I can do is live my life - enjoy "The Office" tonight on TV (yippee!!), eat dinner the way I always did before, drink my water, blog occasionally, and listen to the Embassy CD I finally got in the mail last week.

Boy, you know, if only more people knew about these guys. What a great CD. It's been playing non-stop in the car, on my Chocolate, and in my head since I opened the thing. Since I was in direct contact with the band, they even sent me a song that's coming up on a future album. If there was a legal way to post it to the blog here, I'd do it. It's that good. Also, apparently, they are undergoing somewhat of a a transformation; attempting to rename the band and getting a new web-site together and so forth. The main reason it took so long for them to process my order and get the CD mailed out. Busy times for them, I suppose. I can understand that. I hope they are still playing gigs in August when I get home, because I really want to check them out live. I really do.

The workshop went really great. Lots of great presentations, lots of notes I want to go back through, and lots to information I have yet to really mull over. The "Frontogenesis during the warm season" presentation was very interesting and the Northwood, ND tornado re-analysis case was one I enjoyed very much. I saw some familiar faces, got to reacquaint myself with them, met some new people and made some friends. They didn't announce where next year's workshop will be held, but I'm pulling for Rapid City to step up. That would make for a longer trip next April, but that would be awesome to take a few additional days off and stay out there and enjoy the area. Do some hiking in the Black Hills or Badlands, maybe? Bismarck was very new to me. I hadn't ever been out there. We familiarized ourselves with the area around the Ramkota, though and Turcotte, Lawson and I had a pretty good time. We were able to upgrade the room to a poolside one, so we enjoyed some time in the pool and especially in the hot-tub both nights.

I WILL own one of those one day. Just wait, you'll see.

Hey, you know what, I'm finishing up here during the commercial break. I'm gonna sit down, enjoy my Lean Cuisine and "The Office."

And look, the Cubbies are winning! Ahhh, the Earth IS spinning, once again.

Yeah, really, the only reason why my new favorite band is Shiny Toy Guns...

The interviewer does a great job of sounding scary, creepy doesn't he? ;)

Oh yeah, and the music they make... I can't get this song added to my player below, so you'll have to listen here:

Some serious sampling of her voice, but what a beautiful voice it is. So god-damned cute... Ehhh, does she have a 29 year old twin anywhere nearby? I'd hug the crap out of her!
0 conundrum(s) | Have one of your own?
Why I had never really listened to them before, I have no idea. I had heard of Social Distortion before. They have been around longer than Green Day - and for as loyal of a fan as I am of their's - it's a wonder why I hadn't ever listened to them as much. They sound much alike and it's fairly obvious that GD very likely had some sort of influence from Social D.

A co-worker of mine was wanting to see them in concert, since they were going to be at Playmakers down in Fargo... And since I've been wanting to go to more concerts lately and the fact that I was curious at what their "sound" was like - we both went down to the show Sunday night. Turns out, it was well worth the price of the tickets and drive... What an awesome show! I think they have a new fan! ;) I've been sitting here all night downloading several of their songs.

I'm not so sure which of them are my absolute favorites quite yet, but some early preferences:

» Bad Luck
» Ball and Chain
» Don't Take Me For Granted
» I Wasn't Born To Follow
» Prison Bound
» When the Angels Sing

So, listen up people - if you see these guys on tour anywhere near you, I'd strongly recommend attending. They put on a pretty amazing show, especially given their age and for how long they have been around. Rock on Mike Ness - you've got an incredible band!

Why won't Angels and Airwaves just release "Start The Machine" as their next single? Damnit, it's such a great song and I think it would do great on radio... Check out my Radio blog below to check it out...

I've been out with Shaw and Luxford most of the night and my buzz is just now starting to subside... Damn! ;) And by the way, what is it with Overtime not having Killian's on tap? Dipshits!

Anyhow, it probably wasn't the best way to drown away most of what's been going on lately in my life, but it was nice to just hang out with the two of them and joke around. Gee, life as I knew it before Lu... I almost forgot what it was like.

Yep, still feels the same way...
0 conundrum(s) | Have one of your own?
It's been quite a while since I last wrote in here, so I figured I'd drop a note this evening. I guess I just haven't been motivated enough to write in here - and really, there hasn't been much to write about lately. Simply put, there hasn't been much excitement in my life over the past few weeks.

Work has been a little slow and I've been working a lot of office shifts lately. I won't complain. It's been giving me a chance to work on some research I've been wanting to work on since, well, college. Pretty sad that I have research I started as a junior at Valpo and am still not even half-way through. I've managed to generate the surface charts I need via Digital Atmosphere. And I'm now in the process of touching up my boundary layer vorticity theory with some research articles I've been stock-piling over the past several years. My research involves vorticity (the tendency for air to "spin" within the atmosphere) generated within the lower 1 km of the atmosphere (mainly at the surface), it's proximity to mesoscale (microscale, maybe?) boundaries, and the coincidence of both to tornadogenesis (the formation of tornadoes). I have six different cases I'm looking at, however, unfortunately a few of them were small events - where only a few tornadoes occurred. This may uncover some other clues, so I'm not overlooking them. I have three other office shifts this week, so I'm going to be taking that time to look over the papers I have. Hopefully, I'll be able to start writing up some conclusions and/or findings after, by closely studying the charts I've created. I have the raw data I need, so I may even have to look at other surface or possibly upper-air data/analysis. We'll see how it proceeds. Maybe if I can actually complete everything, I'll have something to present at next year's Northern Plains Convective Workshop.

Not much else is really going on, personally. I haven't really had the liberty to be out running around. I've been puting money back for my trip home in August, so as if I wasn't broke before, I'm even more so now. I'm pretty much pinching every cent out of my paycheck and haven't been spending it on anything. I'm cutting back on a lot of things. I haven't been eating out but maybe once a week or so. Yeah, surprisingly that makes a huge difference! I haven't been spending as much at the grocery. I used to spend quite a bit... thinking that since I only go about once every 3-4 weeks that it was justified. But, recently, I've spent much less and am finding that I can make "supplies" last just as long. I unsubcribed from match.com. That stupid service was withdrawing $30 out of my account a month. I've "sorta" met someone anyway, so it's been pretty much a waste of money for the past couple of months. CT and I have been e-mailing back and forth for a couple of months now and even though we haven't actually met each other or talked over the phone, it's been great getting to know her. I hope things start moving forward, but we'll see... It's never a bad thing to become friends first and I think we're getting towards that point.

Has anyone heard that Tom Delonge from Blink-182 has a new band? I didn't realize, but I heard the song "The Adventure" from them the other night, so I downloaded the CD earlier today. It's actually really good... It's certainly much different than his Blink albums, but it's still worth a listen. The band is called Angels and Airwaves... I've been listening to all the songs over and over this afternoon. I'm hooked...

Anyhow, I just got back in from taking a walk. It's been pretty warm up here the last few days, so I've been trying to take advantage of the great weather. I love these warm summer evenings...! The mosquitos are out there, but I didn't have too much of a problem with them until I got down towards Sertoma Park. They were a little thicker there, since the coulee winds through there. I'll have to start looking at the "skeeter meter" once again. Heheh, seems like such a silly thing, but the city of Grand Forks actually has one of these!

Think I'm gonna grab a snack and put in a movie...
Hope all is well!

Yes, this sucks... So, I'm supposed to be at work at 10:00am... it's 7:00am and I'm wide awake. Something is seriously up with me. Yesterday I worked until 7:00am, so I ended up sleeping through much of the day. Until around 3:00pm, in fact. I tried getting some sleep, but I've only slept a total of like 2 hours. If you know me at all, you know I'm always up late, so I didn't go to bed until 2:00am, then tossed and turned and didn't really fall asleep until 3:00. I wake up again at 5:00, and ever since I've been wide awake.

I have a feeling I'm going to be dog-tired by the time I get home from work today. I'm seriously going to check out some of those sleeping pills my mom mentioned to me. Either that or tell Cory to not schedule these M11 shifts and D10 shifts back-to-back. This is killer on my sleeping schedule.

Anyhow, not much is new around these parts. Temperatures have been slowly on the increase over the last week and it looks like we should continue in the 30's through, at least, the next week. I'm hoping that puts a dent in the snow-pack we have on ground. I'd love to see all this friggin' snow gone by the end of the month. If that happens remains to be seen, but it sure would be nice. I'm really looking forward to warm weather. I set a resolution at the beginning of the year to start running this summer and whether I keep that, depends on when it warms up. Hopefully, it'll be soon... Within the next month, maybe? ;)

Well, I think I'm gonna hop off here. Maybe I'll actually eat something for breakfast before I head into work. I'm never up early enough before work to eat breakfast. This will be something new!

Oh, and for you Reality-TV enthusiasts, you gotta catch this season's "Apprentice" and "Real World: Key West." The Apprentice is actually pretty good this go around - maybe as good as the first season, and the Real World: Key West season should be interesting to watch. They were filming the show down in Key West when Hurricane Katrina struck southern Florida and were there filming, as well, when Wilma made landfall along the southwestern coast of Florida. I'm not typically into watching "Real World" on a consistent basis, but this season has my interest. ;)

Newest favorite song: Better Days - Goo Goo Dolls
Newest crush: Allie (from The Apprentice) *grin

Hi folks...

I came across the coolest thing this morning! RadioBlog!?! It's free software and as long as you have web-space, you can install it and run it yourself. It's taken some time to figure out a way to link it to my blog here, but I've come up with (hopefully) a manageable solution for now.

If you look off to the right and down below, you'll see a "Radio.Blog" button - simply click on this and a window should open up for you containing the player. I can add and/or remove any files I want and it works through XML and Flash... which is damn cool, cause with that, I should be able to listen to this at work!

An even cooler thing about it, is that the visitors to my blog here, can listen to some of my favorite music while looking through my blog, my web-site, or while surfing the 'net, in general.

I've only posted a select few songs this morning, for testing purposes. But, stay tuned... I'll add some other songs later this afternoon (after I get some sleep, of course).

Take care and enjoy!

Just check out her web-site: http://www.cascada-music.de/

I just heard her song "Everytime We Touch" on the radio about a week and a half ago and I've been stuck on her music ever since. I'm not a huge fan of the trance/techno genre, but this is good music, people. She's got a beautiful voice and well, she's hot to boot!

Okay, so I'm driving home tonight from being out with the guys from work and I hear INXS on the radio... Am I hearing this right? The group has gotten back together and have a new song!?! Oh my! Apparently the song is called "Pretty Vegas" and really, it isn't half bad for an attempt at coming back with a new album... Maybe you should just go check it out.

Anyhow, yes, was out with guys tonight. Not much happenin' up here in Grand Forks. Played some cards, had a few drinks, then went out for a few more drinks at Babylon. Or so we thought. I can't believe the place shut-down. It looked like the place actually shut it's doors, which, unfortunately, is a sad thing, given the place wasn't really that bad. Now, given I only went to the place once - and that one time they were out of Killian's (one of only a few beers I actually like) and also was out of Crown Royal, when I attempted to order a Crown and Coke... it was a decent place. Apparently, they didn't attract the crowds they needed.

By the way, Monday nights are very popular nights at Whitey's. I don't think I've ever seen the place so full! They have this thing on Monday nights, I guess, where they have 3 dice and if you roll and beat the dealer (the bartender) your drinks are free. So, considering that - plus the fact that all the college students are back in town, it was pretty crowded. The women were out in full force... and even though I'm not particularly looking, there were plenty there that were lookin' pretty fine! ;)

Anyhow, folks - it's late and I have to be work in the morning! I haven't been sleeping well lately and I've been tired as hell at work the past few days. So, I should be getting to bed to get some much needed rest!

Take care!

Congratulations to Dave Matthews and Green Day for reaching VH-1's Top 40 Video's of the year. They've been running the special the past couple of days and in catching it this morning, I found Dave Matthew's, "American Baby" ranked #27, Green Day's, "Wake Me Up When September Ends" at #13 and their smash, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" at #2. Yes, that's right! Dave Matthews and Green Day definitely rock!

Hey folks...

I've started what I like to call a "MediaBlog" over on fenderdx.blogspot. As many of my friends would tell you, I'm a huge music and movie buff. I figured this would be a good way for me to express myself through both mediums. Plus, it just sounded like a fun thing to do!

Hopefully, I'll be able to keep it updated on a daily basis. I hope to offer up a daily photo, lyric, and song.

Enjoy!

Edit: The "MediaBlog" has since been discontinued... (10/14/2006)

Not much to write home about today folks; but... since I have the laptop up and running. I didn't end up getting up out of bed today until 3:30pm, so there went half my day. Got showered up and lounged around for a couple of hours, then started doing some laundry. I've come to the conclusion that I hate doing laundry. It's not the fact of actually doing it as much as having to pay for it. I'll tell you what, if I ever get another apartment, it's going to have its own washer and dryer. The washer/dryer units in my apartment complex are located on each floor at the end of the hall... and I suppose the one positive is that I live very near the utility room they're located in. The negative is paying... can you believe this, washing a load of laundry costs 75 cents, while drying is 60 cents. Friggin' dumb as shit, I think, but well, what can you do?

While I had the laundry going, I took advantage of some free time and called my best friend, Justin back home in Indiana. This guy, I'll tell you what, can make me laugh no matter what. He could take the most mundane, dry conversation and crack a joke and make you laugh. It's amazing, really, how he does it - but its also something I miss dearly. I tried to convince him to move up here with me, and really, I could see him doing so if it weren't for financial concerns. Unfortunately, he's living with his grandmother and to put it in his words, "blows fucking ass." He hates it and he gets sooo frustrated with her. He needs to get out on own and I'm hoping before long he does... He's one cool dude, and I just miss hanging out with him and laughing non-stop for hours on end.

I also went out to Best Buy today and bought Martina McBride's new CD, "Timeless." Her first new studio album in a couple years was released on the 14th and being the Martina-nut I am, had to go buy it. I haven't listened completely through it, but so far, I've found it pretty good. She's redone a lot of the older country hits, adding a little modern touch to them, and of course, her beautiful voice. If you're a fan of Martina or of any of the older country music, you'll love this CD.

Well, it appears the MNF game between the Falcons and Jets has approached half-time with Atlanta leading 20-7. I have a feeling trading away Warrick Dunn on my fantasy football team is gonna come back and bite me in the ass. One of the guys in the league needed a marquee running-back and even though I really didn't want to trade Dunn, I did get L.J. Smith and Tatum Bell to cover a weak TE spot in my lineup and a fairly decent running-back in Bell, to help fill in what I'm losing in Dunn. The first week after the trade (Week 6), it actually worked to my advantage, as Tatum Bell had a pretty good game. This week - well, it's been the worst one yet. I had a total of 58 fantasy points. Yes, you heard me, TOTAL. I suppose that's what will happen when LT only runs for 7 yards and your starting QB only throws 130 yards for 1 touchdown.

The one upside... my hometown Colts pulled it out in Houston to become 7-0! The best start for them in franchise history. These guys are playing more as a team than they ever have, so they deserve it...

Well, hey the 2nd half is underway - and I'm missing it! So, I'm hopping off here for now. Take care and have a good evening!

I came across this link today and found it to be too damn funny not to include somewhere. I know, the joke has wore thin, but Ashlee Simpson's "blunder" on SNL earlier this year is something we'll never forget.

Oh and by the way, what a great day it is! It's Friday, the sun is out and its 62° outside. Can't ask for anything better, can you?

You know, I'm sitting here going through my entire mp3 collection tonight, removing those I don't necessarily listen to anymore and such... Whatever happened to Huey Lewis? This guy put out so many great songs and a unique voice that was so distinguishable... Anymore, you hear these teeny-pop songs and the voices all sound the same. Once you hear Huey's voice, you know it's him... Strange thought, I know but it makes you wonder where these people go, when their music careers are over, if in fact, they are. Sometimes these people come out of nowhere and release all-new records. Look at Motley Crue! I say, bring back Huey Lewis AND the News! *grin

Good evening, everyone!
