That's right... quite possibly! What a day the Colts had to endure. The San Diego Chargers came into the game today, gunning to an early 13-0 by the end of the 1st quarter. A questionable play from Dungy on 4th and 1 at the goal-line resulted in a big missed opportunity for the Colts and really, that set the tone for the day. Why was Manning running with the ball on 4th and 1?? Anyhow, the Chargers got to Manning today, sacking him 4 times and with resilient pressure, didn't allow a score until the 3rd quarter. The defense got the Colts back in the game in the 3rd quarter and a 1-yd TD reception to Dallas Clark and PAT by Vanderjagt put them up 17-16. The Chargers answered right back, however, with a field goal on their next posession. With a turnover from Manning and another sack, the Colts had to punt once again early in the 4th quarter. The Chargers from here, ran a rushing play for Michael Turner (replacing LaDainian Tomlinson), resulting in an 83-yd touchdown. The play put it out of reach for the Colts, who fell to 13-1 on the season.
I apologize, but not really much in the mood to provide stats today. But lets just say 24 total rushing yards isn't going to win you a ball game - especially when you face a defense like THAT! Oh, and who the @! is Michael Turner!?! Take away that 83-yd run and the Colts may actually have had a chance to make it a game.
I guess you can't win'em all...
