So I hear as of Saturday, March 18, 2006, that we've occupied Iraq for exactly 3 years... I got to thinking about this and after about 15 minutes, I realized, I would not make a very good President of the United States.

Here are a few select reasons why: (note: I may progressively add to this list)

1_ International policy would pretty much be eliminated - I realize international economics is important, yes, but I look at it from military and financial perspective. The U.S. does nothing but get involved in other countries' wars and issues. Why don't other countries get more involved? Because either, they just can't - or they're not willing to. Both, mostly because they have issues of their own. Why can't the U.S. solve their own issues first? What has the government done for welfare or poverty in this country over the past 5 years? NOT MUCH! Our education system is suffering, health-care reform has become a major issue, and why? Because of budget cuts... Because our money is going towards this god-damn war that was "technically" over 2 years ago when we captured Saddam Hussein. Why the hell are we still there? More and more of our own men keep getting killed... and why? Because Iraq needs to develop a government? Hello, they have... they've conducted the vote, they've got an interim administration... Let them run their own country. Our objective was finalized years ago. I would pull our troops, and yes, I mean ALL of them, tomorrow, if I could. I also read online earlier this evening that the cost of this war is soon to top a trillion dollars. As if the national deficit isn't bad enough already... let's linger this war into another year! I haven't agreed with staying in Iraq, ever since we captured Saddam - and my feelings get stronger and stronger each month this keeps continuing. It's complete B.S.

2_ Homeland security funds wouldn't be allocated to only the Dept. of Defense - Some of this money would go towards the Corps. of Engineers and to the Dept. of Commerce, where NOAA and the National Weather Service lies. This country has some sort of issue with natural disaster response and the formation of local Emergency Management Agencies. There are lots and lots of communities out there that don't have local EMA's. And why? Because the administrations over the past 5-10 years have seemingly ignored their scientific advisors AND the Dept. of Commerce.

3_ There would be a much higher demand from the government for alternative fuel exploration - I just heard tonight that Brazil has declared itself energy-independent. It no longer relies on the importing of oil for developing energy. It relies entirely on ethenol fuels... Why isn't this country seriously demanding this to happen. Yes, it's being explored, but why has Brazil been able to do this *before* us? They say that gas prices are increasing because of high demand... Well, Mr. Bush - you can do something about that. Demand that all car manufacturers to produce FlexFuel vehicles. Only a few select new vehicles in production are FlexFuel candidates. GM is now, finally, marketing these vehicles - and I feel that all manufacturers should follow suit. E-85 is pretty much the future, and this is produced with corn - something we can plant, harvest, and develop into bio-fuels over and over and over. Why aren't we allocating more money into this? Because our administration is led by George "the oil-man" Bush... and, of course, nor he or his other oil-rich debutants wouldn't want to lose any money. God forbid that they do some good for this country.

4_ I'm too smart to be president - Apparently, you have to be a freakin' moron and sound like a bumbling idiot when giving addresses to your nation. In addition, you have to be able to sound like a complete dumbass, even when reading from a prepared, written speech that's provided to you. Oh, and I can pronounce "Abu Ghraib" and most of the countries around the world... and that's just not acceptable.
