I have a few minutes of free time here at work late tonight, so I was surfing the web a bit and came across this old map of the city of Grand Forks from 1920.
Note that I-29 clearly doesn't exist! Columbia Road was the route to Fargo and that Gateway Drive was named "Skidmore Ave" back in 1920... Another interesting feature to note is that at the time, that the "University of North Dakota Grounds" were considered the western extent of the town. Grand Forks was pretty damn small back then! Amazing too, the route north to Winnipeg!
I just can't imagine life without interstates... What life must have been like in that day in age!
