Since I missed tonight's episode of "The Office," I had to go find something to get my fix...

Behold, Mr. Buttlicker! ;)

Hiya folks,

I'm a little depressed late this evening... On a couple of fronts...

First, I found out this morning that my car has a radiator that's better off in a trash can on Uranus and a serpentine belt that would be better worn on Calista Flockhart. In other words, I'm shelling out $500 tomorrow morning that was supposed to go towards new tires. So, Hilga won't be getting her wheels for another 3 months, now. Sorry, sweet lady - I wanted to have fresh treads for you this winter - for your sake... and mine!

Secondly, I totally lost track of my weekdays and didn't realize until 8:28 PM (CST) that "The Office" was on. Argh! I ran to the TV and caught the last two minutes of it. It's so great Pam is back! I missed her cute smile sitting at that front desk! ;)

So, when I get home from dropping my car off at the dealership tomorrow morning, you'll be damned sure I'll be on Hulu watching the entire episode to catch up.

Ahhh, do I love Hulu!

Oh, and by the way... The two things I do feel good about today, well, check out my post above...

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to Meee-eeee, Happy Birthday to me.

Yep, much to my demise, I turned the big 3-0 yesterday, last evening, however you want to see it... While some people may say they dread the day and year they turn that "magic" number of 3 and zero, I don't really feel I've leaped across that line quite yet.

As I told my parents earlier in the day, while, yes, I "officially" turned 30 today, I don't really feel like I'm 30. I guess, that's the most important thing, right?

Even after a night of "moderate" beverages, I feel I can still see I have a lot before me. In life... and laughter! Oh, please watch "The Office" this week, if haven't seen it - whether you're a fan or not, you really have to see it. Once they have the episode up on Hulu, I'll post it. I'll guarantee you'll laugh. It may be the funniest episodes they've had on the entire series!

Yes folks, I have returned... The world can go back to spinning the way it did before I left, the sky can turn cloudy, the temperatures can go cold again, the air - cool and stenchy, and happy people everywhere can return to their gloomy outlook on days ahead.

Heh.

What a negative way to start out a post.

Nah, deep down I'm actually in a fairly good mood. I'm just not showing it very well. I have mixed feelings right now but don't really feel this is place to share that. I desperately want to write about certain things that have transpired over the past few days and why these feelings are bubbling up.

The only thing I can do is live my life - enjoy "The Office" tonight on TV (yippee!!), eat dinner the way I always did before, drink my water, blog occasionally, and listen to the Embassy CD I finally got in the mail last week.

Boy, you know, if only more people knew about these guys. What a great CD. It's been playing non-stop in the car, on my Chocolate, and in my head since I opened the thing. Since I was in direct contact with the band, they even sent me a song that's coming up on a future album. If there was a legal way to post it to the blog here, I'd do it. It's that good. Also, apparently, they are undergoing somewhat of a a transformation; attempting to rename the band and getting a new web-site together and so forth. The main reason it took so long for them to process my order and get the CD mailed out. Busy times for them, I suppose. I can understand that. I hope they are still playing gigs in August when I get home, because I really want to check them out live. I really do.

The workshop went really great. Lots of great presentations, lots of notes I want to go back through, and lots to information I have yet to really mull over. The "Frontogenesis during the warm season" presentation was very interesting and the Northwood, ND tornado re-analysis case was one I enjoyed very much. I saw some familiar faces, got to reacquaint myself with them, met some new people and made some friends. They didn't announce where next year's workshop will be held, but I'm pulling for Rapid City to step up. That would make for a longer trip next April, but that would be awesome to take a few additional days off and stay out there and enjoy the area. Do some hiking in the Black Hills or Badlands, maybe? Bismarck was very new to me. I hadn't ever been out there. We familiarized ourselves with the area around the Ramkota, though and Turcotte, Lawson and I had a pretty good time. We were able to upgrade the room to a poolside one, so we enjoyed some time in the pool and especially in the hot-tub both nights.

I WILL own one of those one day. Just wait, you'll see.

Hey, you know what, I'm finishing up here during the commercial break. I'm gonna sit down, enjoy my Lean Cuisine and "The Office."

And look, the Cubbies are winning! Ahhh, the Earth IS spinning, once again.

In honor of a (hopeful) soon end to the WGA/Writer's Strike, I pay homage to my favorite show....

I can't wait for it to be back with new shows.

I didn't catch the game, but as I was reading about the Giants/Phillies baseball game this last evening, I sure wish I had. I found this in a portion of the article:
"As Bonds walked out to left field before the bottom of the first, fans in the front row of the bleachers unfurled a huge sign that read: "Ruth did it on hot dogs and beer. Aaron did it with class. How did YOU do it?" In addition, one 'i' and the question mark were dotted with asterisks."
Isn't that just the funniest thing you've ever heard? I would have loved to have seen that! Hahah!

Anyhow, not much new around these parts. We had a weak squall line blow over the area this past evening, so I was able to get out and get some pictures of that, as well as some outstanding lightning. I think I've achieved a new "best." That lightning shot from my back yard in Bluffton, IN was the best I had taken up until this past evening. This Digital Rebel XT is still amazing me how well it takes photos. And these lightning shots, well, they're very impressive! If you're curious to see them, I've uploaded photos from the squall line and the lightning photos in the gallery. Be aware, though, the squall line photos are in the "2006 Season" category, while the lightning shots are, of course, located in the "Lightning Photography" category.

Oh, and that Burger King commercial... I saw it for the first time Saturday night and I still can't get over how hilarious it is. "Eat like a man... man!" Oh my, how funny...

Yes, this sucks... So, I'm supposed to be at work at 10:00am... it's 7:00am and I'm wide awake. Something is seriously up with me. Yesterday I worked until 7:00am, so I ended up sleeping through much of the day. Until around 3:00pm, in fact. I tried getting some sleep, but I've only slept a total of like 2 hours. If you know me at all, you know I'm always up late, so I didn't go to bed until 2:00am, then tossed and turned and didn't really fall asleep until 3:00. I wake up again at 5:00, and ever since I've been wide awake.

I have a feeling I'm going to be dog-tired by the time I get home from work today. I'm seriously going to check out some of those sleeping pills my mom mentioned to me. Either that or tell Cory to not schedule these M11 shifts and D10 shifts back-to-back. This is killer on my sleeping schedule.

Anyhow, not much is new around these parts. Temperatures have been slowly on the increase over the last week and it looks like we should continue in the 30's through, at least, the next week. I'm hoping that puts a dent in the snow-pack we have on ground. I'd love to see all this friggin' snow gone by the end of the month. If that happens remains to be seen, but it sure would be nice. I'm really looking forward to warm weather. I set a resolution at the beginning of the year to start running this summer and whether I keep that, depends on when it warms up. Hopefully, it'll be soon... Within the next month, maybe? ;)

Well, I think I'm gonna hop off here. Maybe I'll actually eat something for breakfast before I head into work. I'm never up early enough before work to eat breakfast. This will be something new!

Oh, and for you Reality-TV enthusiasts, you gotta catch this season's "Apprentice" and "Real World: Key West." The Apprentice is actually pretty good this go around - maybe as good as the first season, and the Real World: Key West season should be interesting to watch. They were filming the show down in Key West when Hurricane Katrina struck southern Florida and were there filming, as well, when Wilma made landfall along the southwestern coast of Florida. I'm not typically into watching "Real World" on a consistent basis, but this season has my interest. ;)

Newest favorite song: Better Days - Goo Goo Dolls
Newest crush: Allie (from The Apprentice) *grin
